Rockcastle Growers Cooperative

Cultivating Community Through Sustainable, Locally Grown Food and Future-Focused Farming

The Rockcastle Growers Cooperative (RGC) grew out of a need for locally grown food systems in a part of Kentucky that is food insecure. RGC was started by a group of farmers in Rockcastle County and Jackson County in partnership with the Rockcastle Farm Service Agency and Rockcastle Farmers market. We are united in a passion for growing healthy food that will heal our community and fuel the future of agriculture in our region for generations to come.

Our Mission

Our mission is to establish sustainable and healthy food systems for our community and create agricultural opportunities that can sustain future generations.

Our Values

Healthy Food: We believe that food grown locally for local people is the safest and most nourishing food a person can eat. We do not grow food for customers; we grow food for our friends and neighbors in our community.

Community Connections: When we sell our home-grown products to our community there is a personal connection that drives us to grow the best food that we can. Knowing your farmer and living close enough to see where your food is grown is an irreplaceable connection to food and neighbors.

Future of Agriculture: We strive to keep food production in the hands of small farms to keep people connected to their food and keep holistic job opportunities in our community for future generations. We are small business owners who want to see the economics of our community flourish.
